Cross Country Results - Smith Center Invitational

The Beloit Girls and Boys Cross country teams traveled yesterday to compete at the Smith Center Invitational. A total of seven schools competed on the challenging course to include Smith Center, Phillipsburg, Republic County, Natoma, Osborne and Lakeside. The Girls won the first place trophy scoring 24 team points followed by Republic County and Lakeside. The Beloit girls were able to place four runners in the top ten each of which received medals. Coming in first was Michaela Pingel with a time of 18:54. Erin Kelley 6th, Savanna Cox 7th, and Madison Wolfe with a 9th place finish. Other Beloit Varsity girls included Sami Loomis 11th, Brianna Kohler 16th and Brooke Abram coming in 18th.

The Beloit Junior Varsity Girls took the first four places in the JV race with Amber Robinson 1st with a winning time of 21:05, Arica Fairchild 2nd, Audrey Finney 3rd and Shae Johnson 4th.

The Beloit Boys finished 2nd in the team results behind Republic County. Phillipsburg finished 3rd, Natoma 4th and Smith Center 5th.
Leading the team was Alex Conn winning the race in 17:32. Anthony Nunez was the 10th place medalist for the Trojans. Other varsity runners included Trent Allen in 13th , Brendon Mason 17th, Logan Mong 20th, Taylor Travis 23rd and Dustin Williams coming in 29th.

In the Junior Varsity race Brady Budke earned a 3rd place medal and Gannon Grauerholz picking up a 4th place medal. Other Beloit Junior Varsity runners included KC Swisher in 8th followed by teammate Jesse Vetter in 9th place.

The next competition for the Trojans will be Thursday when they travel to Belleville to compete in the Republic County Invitational.
