Cross Country Results - Beloit Invitational

Over 263 runners from a record twenty-one schools came to Beloit to participate in the Beloit Invitational Cross-Country meet held at the Beloit Country Club yesterday afternoon. Both Junior High and High School runners competed for top honors in the six competitions.

In the combined 7th and 8th grade girls race, Junior Trojan Kylie Mihm was the 5th place medalist finishing in 6:42. Emma Easter was the 8th place medalist followed by 9th place medalist Lacy Elsen. Atlanta Haller finished just out of medal contention in 11th place.

The Boys combined race had Tristen Brummer taking third in a time of 5:24. Fourth place medalist was Chance Kopsa in 5:51. Calvin Duden finished in 14th for the Junior Trojans.

The third competition for the day was the ladies varsity 4K race. Lady trojans competing included: Michaela Pingel in 27th, Savanna Cox 28th, Madison Wolfe 37th, Erin Kelley 39th, Sami Loomis 45th and Erica Fairchild in 53rd. The team finished 6th overall behind Lincoln, Minneapolis, Abilene, Concordia and meet champion Sacred Heart.

In the Junior Varsity girls race, Brooke Abram was the 10th place medalists followed by teammate Audrey Finney in 11th. Bryanna Kohler finished 16th for the Lady Trojans.

The boys varsity race included 103 competitors vying for top honors. Winning his fourth gold of the season, Alex Conn finished the 5K course in 16:20 over Wyatt Ratzlaff of Phillipsburg in 17:15. Other Beloit Varsity runners included: Anthony Nunez in 27th, Trent Allen 40th, Brendon Mason 60th, Logan Mong 63rd, Taylor Travis 69th, and Dustin Williams in 88nd.

The boys finished 6th behind Bennington, Abilene, Republic County, Sacred Heart, and Team champion Phillipsburg.

In the Boys Junior Varsity race, Brady Budke led the Trojans with a 21st place finish. Other runners included: Gannon Grauerholz 31st, KC Swisher 32nd, and Jesse Vetter in 40th place.

Next action for the Trojans will be this Tuesday at Ellsworth, as the Junior Trojans will compete in their last meet of the season while the Senior High runners will run in their last regular season competition prior to League.
