Cross Country Results - Lakeside Invitational

The Beloit High School Cross-country teams travelled to Downs to compete in the Lakeside Invitational which also served as the NCAA & Pike Trail League meet. A total of 22 schools competed in this very competitive meet. In the girls competition, Beloit finished 7th in the Invite and 4th in the League standings. Savanna Cox led the girls team with a 30th place finish. Michaela Pingel was 36th, Erin Kelley 38th, Sami Loomis 52nd, Amber Robinson 53rd, Erica Fairchild 54th and Madison Wolfe 63rd. In overall League standings, Savanna cox finished 13th, Michaela Pingel 18th, Erin Kelley 20th, Sami Loomis 25th, Amber Robinison 26th, Erica Fairchild 27th and Madison Wolfe 28th. The boys varsity team finished 8th out of 23 schools present. A total of 120 runners competed in the boys race for top honors. First across the finish line was Beloit's Alex Conn with a time of 16:39 beating runner-up Caden Callaway of Pike Valley who finished 16:54. Other runners for Beloit included: Anthony Nunez 27th, Trent Allen 36th, Brendon Mason 67th, Logan Mong 72nd, Taylor Travis 74th and Gannon Grauerholz in 95th. In League standings, Beloit finished 4th behind League Champion Sacred Heart. Individually in the League Conn placed 1st, Anthony Nunez 11th, Trent Allen 15th, Brendon Mason 27th, Logan Mong 28th, Taylor Travis 29th, and Gannon Grauerholz 37th.

In the Girls Junior Varsity Race, Audrey Finney was the 10th place medalist, followed by Brianna Kohler with a 12th place medal finish. Shae Johnson finished in 19th overall. Brady Budke was the sole Beloit medalist in the Boys JV race finishing in 12th place. Other Beloit runners included Dustin Williams in 17th, KC Swisher 24th, Corey True 29th, and Jesse Vetter in 32nd. The Beloit Boys Junior Varsity finished Second behind Sacred Heart.

The next action for the Beloit Varsity Cross-Country teams will be a week from Saturday as they compete at Regionals in Ellsworth.
