Pauline Lucille Reiter

Pauline Lucille Reiter, 94 years of age, of Mankato passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Jewell County Hospital, Long-term Care Unit in Mankato, Kansas.. She was born on March 25, 1919 in Jewell, Kansas to Albert and Elsie Bell (LaRue) Abram. Pauline was a graduate of Jewell High School and Emporia State Teacher College. She spent many years teaching in rural one room public Schools, and later did substitutions teaching in other schools. Pauline was active in her church, and the St. Theresa's Guild, and the Friendship Circle Club. She met and married Arnold Reiter on May 22, 1951 at St. Theresa's Church in Mankato, Kansas. To this union four children were born - Don, Kenneth, Roger and Julia.

Pauline is survived by 2 sons - Kenny and wife, Mary Reiter of Mankato, Kansas, Roger and wife, Angelia (Gilly) Reiter of Jewell, Kansas; daughter - Julie and husband, Dennis Kennedy of Mankato, Kansas; daughter-in-law - Candy Reiter of Elmwood, Nebraska; 8 grandchildren - Lacy and husband, Mitch Wiemer, Avery Reiter and friend, Tami, Bradley and wife, Jenna Reiter, Cecilia, and husband, Mark Peters, David, and wife, Sara Reiter, Evan Reiter, Anthony Kennedy, and Austin Kennedy; Five great-grandchildren - Karissa Wiemer, Jaxson Wiemer, Dakota Peters, Richie Reiter, and Noam Reiter; her two brothers, Stanley Abram of Jewell, Kansas, Willis Abram of Jacksonville, Florida; and sister, June and husband Eugene Butts of Jewell, Kansas; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Joseph Reiter on January 30, 2006; son, Don Reiter on July 5, 2012.

A celebration mass for Pauline Lucille Reiter will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at St, Theresa's Catholic Church, in Mankato, Kansas, Interment will be in the Wallace Cemetery, Jewell, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday, October 28, 2013, at Melby Mortuary in Mankato and a Vigil at 7:00 pm at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Mankato, Kansas..
