Smith Center Redman Relays

The Beloit Trojan track teams traveled to Smith Center for the Redman Relays on Tuesday, April 15. Participating at the meet were schools from Beloit, Norton, Phillipsburg, Republic County, Pike Valley, Marysville, Thayer Central (Hebron, NE), and Smith Center.
The Trojan boys won a total of 34 medals (17 gold, 14 silver, 3 bronze) and placed first scoring a total of 164 points. Phillipsburg was second with 125 and Thayer Central was third with 117 points.
The gold medal winners for Beloit were Alex Conn in the 800m run in 1:59.9 and the 1600m run in 4:28.34, Payton Vetter in the high jump at 6'0", Bryce Black in the shot put at 46'9.5", Dustin Reiter in the javelin at 169'3", the weight mans 4X100m relay of Damon Tatro, Brandan Boeckman, Dustin Reiter, and Bryce Black in 48.41, the freshman boys 4X100m relay of Ryan Jackson, Hunter Budke, Colin Budke, and Jarrett Arasmith in 49.43, and the freshman boys 4X400m relay of Jarrett Arasmith, Brendan Mason, Hunter Budke, and Ryan Jackson in 3:59.79.
The silver medal winners were Tanner Niemczyk in the 400m dash in 53.40, Daniel Herndon in the javelin at 161'3", the 4X100m relay team of Jace Adams, Tanner Niemczyk, Colson Reames, and Payton Vetter in 45.31, the 4X400m relay team of Gage DeGarmo, Colson Reames, Carter Wessling, and Payton Vetter in 3:40.37, and the 4X800m relay team of Bailey Vetter, Carter Wessling, Anthony Nunez, and Colson Reames in 9:04.29.
The bronze medal winners were Hunter Budke in the 110m hurdles in 17.07, Damon Tatro in the discus at 145'5", and Jace Adams in the 300m hurdles in 43.95.
The Lady Trojans won a total of 19 medals (3 gold, 10 silver, 6 bronze) and finished in second place with 109 points. Marysville won the meet with 113 and Norton was third with 88 points.
The gold medal winners for Beloit were Remi Behrends in the high jump at 4'10", Alison Palen in the triple jump at 32'1", and Kaley Broeckelman in the 300m hurdles in 49.60.
The silver medal winners were Britt Widrig in the 100m hurdles in 17.45, Kaley Broeckelman in the high jump at 4'10", the 4X100m relay team of Karissa Winkel, Remi Behrends, Alexis Budke, and Kaley Broeckelman in 52.35, and the freshman girls 4X100m relay of Carly Budke, Erica Fairchild, Heidi Mealiff, and Taryn Post in 56.23.
The bronze medal winners were Britt Widrig in the 300m hurdles in 51.48, Savanna Cox in the 3200m run in 13:49.77, and the 4X100m weight relay of Kennedy Brown, Xandra Bouray, Haley Waddell, and Shandrey Krone in 1:03.68.
Coach Isbell said "The teams performed very well in the field and on the track. There were several athletes that achieved personal records and they all continue to improve every day. We are still working on getting athletes healthy and in their best events so we can score the most points as a team."
The next action for the Trojans will be the Belleville Lions Club Invitational on Tuesday, April 22. Field events and the 3200m run begin at 11:00 AM and the running preliminaries start at noon.
