MCHHS Board of Trustees Meeting 4-28-14

The Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems Board of Trustees met last night for their regular monthly meeting. Among the items on the agenda were a report from the Mitchell County Regional Medical Foundation and recognition of those employees celebrating an anniversary for years of service with the hospital.

The Mitchell County Regional Medical Foundation update included progress on reporting information gathered during the Community Health Assessment performed with individuals in Beloit and a surrounding three-mile radius. The Foundation is working on a way to report those results and will have them in printed form, but may also have them made available online. This project and the information gathered tie into a Community Health Improvement Plan that is currently in the works. Also reported during this report was that Secretary of Health Sam Moser will be in Beloit at North Central Kansas Technical College on May 28th beginning at 1:00 PM. This is a register-only event, but important because he will be coming to Beloit to talk about the KDHE's involvement in and alignment with Healthy People 2020.

Years of service anniversaries recognized this month by the Board were for Rhonda Brummer in Dietary (10 years), Sylvia Budke in patient registration (10 years), and Delvina Letourneau in dietary (35 years). The Board offered their congratulations to these employees and were appreciative that there is so much experience within the hospital system.

The Board approved the operating and capital budget and ended their meeting in executive session to discuss medical staff credentials and risk management.
