Russell Invitational....Beloit Results from Thursday April 5

The Beloit Trojan Track and Field team traveled to Russell for their meet on Thursday, April 5. This meet was a late addition to make up for the cancelled Concordia meet. Teams competing in the meet were Beloit, Ellsworth, Hoisington, Hutch-Trinity, Plainville, Russell, Hays-TMP, Clay Center, and Salina-Sacred Heart.

The Trojan boys brought home a total of 15 medals (4 gold, 5 silver, 6 bronze) and finished second with 100.17 points. Clay Center won the meet with 132 points and Plainville was third with 67.34 points.

Gold medal winners for Beloit were the 4X400m relay team of Zach Meier, Paxton Harris, Hudson Gray, and Blaine Burks in 3:35.58.

Silver medal winners for Beloit were Jacob Porter in the 3200m run in 11:17.72, Zach Meier in the 110m high hurdles in 17.14, Vincent Palen in the 300m hurdles in 44.6 and the long jump at 20’1.5”, Colin Chandler in the shot put at 45’11.75”

Bronze medal winners for Beloit were Zach Meier in the 400m dash in 53.04, Blaine Burks in the 800m run in 2:10.86, Vincent Palen in the 110m high hurdles in 17.74, Camden Harris in the pole vault at 12’0”, Blayne Harris in the triple jump at 41’5”, Blaine Burks in the discus at 136’4”

The Lady Trojans brought home a total of 16 medals (8 gold, 3 silver, 5 bronze) and the first place plaque with 120.95 points. Hays-TMP was second with 93.4 points and Plainville was third with 65 points.

Gold medal winners for Beloit were Hannah Burks in the 3200m run in 12:28.74, the 4X800m relay team of Hayley Burks, Kalista Hubert, Khylie Mihm, and Hannah Burks in 10:34.62, Sydney Johnson in the shot put at 42’2.25” and the discus with a throw of 142’2”, and Sydney Barrett in the javelin at 114’5.75”

Silver medal winners for Beloit were Hayley Burks in the 1600m run in 5:44.72, Halle Budke in the high jump at 4’10”, and Blaise Spangler in the pole vault at 9’6”.

Bronze medal winners for Beloit were Hannah Burks in the 800m run in 2:35.65, Blaise Spangler in the 100m hurdles in 18.48, Khylie Mihm in the 300m hurdles in 51.9, Caleigh Hewitt in the pole vault at 8’6”, and Sydney Barrett in the shot put at 32’7.75”.

The next action for the varsity track and field teams will be Tuesday, April 10 at Smith Center. Field events will start at 3:00pm, running preliminaries at 4:00pm and finals will start 20 minutes following the prelims.
