Betty Dixon, 52

Betty Joey Dixon, the daughter of Philip and Margean (Mills) Garcia, was born on August 13, 1967 in Beloit, Kansas. She passed away on September 17, 2019 at the Nebraska Medical Center at Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 52 years, 1 month, 4 days.
Betty attended school in Beloit, graduating from Beloit High School. She attended the Church of Christ in Superior. She was united in marriage to James Dixon in June of 1997. Together they had the joy of having five children, Lisa, Quentin, Willie, Weslee and Tasha, and then 1 by 1 came the 10 grandkids.
Betty enjoyed life, her family and especially her time with her best friend Jim. They worked together on the hog farm north of Hardy for many years, and as jobs and health change they moved into Superior.
Keeping her kids all together was a desire of her heart and an accomplishment. She was tender and strong willed, knew when she was lacking and would take classes to learn more.
Her and Jim always had each other's back, talked things out, knew how to disagree and still agree.
As both her and Jim's health issues changed they took care of each other.
She loved her westerns, Jim would say over and over John Wayne (truth was Jim liked them also.)
The last few months Jim and Willie were always by her side, her caregiver, helping do whatever she wanted to do when Betty would say "Go for a ride?" that's what they did, he had to hold on to her to get her to the truck. "One more day," with Betty-yes-but not here. Jim knows she is waiting for him in heaven.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband James; children Lisa Garcia of Belvidere, Quentin (Kim) Colwell of Hastings, Willie Simkins, Jr., of Superior, Weslee (Ashley) Dixon of Superior, and Tasha Imler of Hastings; brother Ronald Garcia of Salina; and 10 grandchildren, Angelica, Amber, Haley, James, Elizabeth, Alexis, Ariel, Sam, Kaydee and Lauren; other relatives and a host of friends.
