8 Man All Star West Division 1 Roster Plays East Division I at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 2001

Cade Rietzke / Thunder Ridge is a 2010 graduate of Thunder Ridge High School. Cade plans to attend Garden City Community College, play football and get a degree in physical therapy. Cade was named All League Quarterback, All District Quarterback, All Area Super II Hays Daily. He completed 69 of 107 passes with 4 interceptions and 28 TD's with a 295.4 passing efficiency. He rushed for 1597 yds, 177 yds per game. His team reached the sate playoffs in 2006 and 2008, was Cheyenne Conference Champions all 4 years. Cade played on the basketball team that made it the state tournament in 2008-09 and was Cheyenne Conference champions 3 years. He lettered in basketball and football all 4 years in high school and in track his freshman and junior year. Cade played MAYB basketball for 5 years and is a member of First St John Lutheran Church. He enjoys golfing, fishing and hunting. Activities and honors in school include: honor roll, pep club, KAYS, STUCO president, senior class president. He is the son of Vince and Kim Rietzke, Kensington.

Jason McClaren / Minneola is a 2010 graduate of Minneola High School. Jason plans to attend Hutchinson Community College, play baseball and major in physical education. Football honors: Elite 8 Hutchinson News, 1st Team Quarterback All State, 1st Team Quarterback SPIAA League, Honorable Mention Linebacker SPIAA League, 1st Team Punter SPIAA League. Minneola was undfeated in the regular seasion, SPIAA league champs on won the 1st round of playoffs. Jason was selected second team basketball SPIAA League and honorable mention basketball All State. He enjoys hunting and fishing and has been an honor student and member of National Honor Society. He is the son of Doug and Michelle McClaren, Fowler.

Billy Stensland / Greensburg is a 2010 graduate of Hill City High School. Billy plans to attend Garden City Community College and play football. Greensburg made it to the 2nd round of the state playoffs. Billy qualified for the state track meet in the shot put and enjoys weights and track. He is the son of Emily Stills and guardians Joel and Patsy Schmidt.

Cody Corwin / Quinter is a 2010 graduate of Quinter High School. Cody plans to attend college and become a teacher. Cody's football stats for 2009 include: 3 fumble recoveries, 6 points scored, 11 sacks. Cody played basketball and is a member of TLC and CYO. He enjoys hanging out with friends and was active in stuco, KAYS and forensics in school. He is the son of Rich and Mary Corwin.

Josh Stapelton / Minneola is a 2010 graduate of Minneola High School. Josh plans to attend Garden City Community College and play football. Football honors and stats include: 2009 1st Team Tight End & Linebacker. Offensive stats: 2 rushes for 38 yds; caught 13 passes for 194 yds, avg 14.92 yds per catch; Defense: 62 solo tackles, 52 assists; 11.4 tackles per game, 1 sack, 1 interception, 1 fumble recovery. Minneola was undfeated in 2009; district runner up in 2008 and district champs in 2007. Josh enjoys hunting and tinkering with pickups and cars. He lettered in football 4 years, basketball 2 years and golf 2 years. He is the son of Alex and Melanie Stapleton, Minneola.

Brayden Bloomfield / Clifton-Clyde is a 2010 graduate of Clifton-Clyde High School. Brayden plans to attend Cloud County Community College. He rushed for 3556 yds the past 2 years; 68 rushing TD's, avg. 8.83 yds per carry in his career. Brayden passed for 1331 yds the past 2 years, throwing 26 TD passes and completing 53.5% of passes for his career. On special teams, he averaged 32.82 yds per kickoff return career, 23.95 yds per punt return career. He was selected TVL All League TB 1st team, All Eagle RB/MVP, Topeka Capital All State TB 1st Team, Wichita Eagle All-State DB 1st Team. Clifton Clyde won 20 games in 2008 and 2009; was District, Bi-District and Reginal Champs in 2008 and 2009; and state runner up in 2008. Brayden made state in track as a freshman and sophomore and took 2nd in state in baseball his freshman year. He enjoys hunting. He is the son of Bill and Terri Bloomfield, Clifton.

Nathan Charlton / Greensburg is a 2010 graduate of Greensburg High School. Nathan's future plans are undecided. Football honors include: 2008: 2nd Team RB All League; 2nd Team DE All League; 1st Team RB All District, 1st Team DE All District; 2009: 1st Team RB All League, 2nd Team LB All League, 1st Team RB All District, 1st Team LB All District, 2nd Team RB All State. Greensburg was regional runner up in 2009. Nathan likes to hunt and do other outside activities and hang out with his friends. He is the son of Danny Trent and Suleenia Charlton.

Evan Loomis / Macksville is a 2010 graduate of Macksville High School. Evan plans to attend Dodge City Community College and play football. Football statistics and honors include: Senior Year: All Eight Man Second Team LB & OE Hutchinson News, All Eight Man First Team Linebacker Wichita Eagle & Topeka Capital, Unanimous All-District Five First Team Linebacker & Tight End. He had 32 receptions for 429 yds and 9 TDs with 91 solo tackles, 25 assisted tackles, 1 sack, 5 int, and 5 fumble recoveries. Macksville had a 13-0 record in 2007 and was the 8 Man Division I State Champion; In 2008 they had an 8-4 record and was sub-state runner up and in 2009 they had an 8-3 record and was regional runner up. Evan was a state qualifier in the discus in 2009, the 4x100 relay in 2009 and was a member of the 5th place 4x100 meter relay state team in 2008. he was selected 2nd team All League and Honorable Mention All State in basketball in 2009. He is a member of church and has been an altar server for 7 years and a 4-H club member for 12 years.
Evan enjoys hanging out with friends, golf and playing Call of Duty. Football activities and honors include: KAYS, band, school play academic team member, STUCO, NHS, Kansas Honor Scholar, Superintendent's Honor Roll, Pratt Academic Olympics. He is the son of Bruce and Eileen Loomis, Macksville.

Derrick Aufdemberge / Lincoln is a 2010 graduate of Lincoln High School. Derrick plans to attend Fort Hays State University. 2009 football stats: 7 receptions for 70 yds, 2 rushes for 8 yds. 2008 stats: 44 catches for 391 yds, 3 TDs; 144 total tackles (109 solo, 35 assists), 1 sack. Derrick was selected All Tournament and All League in basketball. He is a member of the church youth group and enjoys dirt bike riding, fishing and snow skiing. He is the son of Vicki and Alan Aufdemberge, Lincoln.

Jordon Hargitt / Quinter is a 2010 graduate of Quinter High School. Jordon plans to attend McPherson University. Football stats and honors: Lettered all 4 years, over 3,000 career rushing yds (1,000 junior year, 1,989 senior year); 48 career touchdowns (20 junior, 27 senior); All District Running back junior and senior year, All League Running Back senior year, Second team junior year; All State Running back 2009; Named to Hays Daily News "Power II Team". Quinter earned back to back district championships in 2008 and 2009, undefeated regular season in 2008 (district champs, regional runner up); 2009 Division I State Champs. He is the son of Roy and Nadine Hargitt, Quinter.

Matthew Broeckelman / Rock Hills is a 2010 graduate of Rock Hills High School. Matt plans to attend Kansas Wesleyan University and play football. He was selected 2008 All PTL League Linebacker, Honorable Mention Quarterback; 2009 All PTL League Linebacker & Quarterback. Rock Hills made the playoffs in 2009. Matt was 2009 PTL 200 and 100m dash champion; was a member of the PTL 2009 track championship team and was a three time state track qualifier. He is an active member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church and CYO, community service volunteer and a summer weightlifting member. Matt enjoys sports, fishing, weightlifting and relaxing. He is a member of NHS, the Superintendent's Honor Roll and band. He is the son of Rod and Susan Broeckelman, Mankato.

Brett Gfeller / Triplains/Brewster is a 2010 graduate of Triplains High School. Brent plans to attend Fort Hays State University. He was selected All District Defensive Back and 2nd Team Quarterback, All Wesern Kansas Liberty League 1st Team Defensive Back and 2nd Team Quarterback. Brett had 126 tackles, an average of 14 tackes a game; 1058 rushing yards, avg 120 yds. a game; 19 rushing touchdowns; 807 passing yards; 9 passing TDs. He placed 2nd in State 1A Golf in 2009 and enjoys hunting, fishing and farming. Brett is a member of the National Honor Society and KAYS. He is the son of Kent and Cindy Gfeller, Winona.

Drew Deaver / Clifton-Clyde is a 2010 graduate of Clifton-Clyde High School. Drew plans to attend Cloud County Community College. Football stats include: 38 career receptions for 665 yds and 9 TDs; average 6.8 yds per carry rushing with 6 interceptions. He was selected 1s Team All League in 2009 and Army Iron Man Finalist. Clifton-Clyde won 10 games the past 4 years; was league champs in 2006 and 2007; district and bi-district champs 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009; regional champs 2007, 2008, 2009; sub-state champs 2008; and state runner up in 2008. Drew was a state track qualifier in 2008. He is the son of Daniel and Judy Deaver.

Clinton Johnson / Hill City is a 2010 graduate of Hill City High School. Clinton plans to attend Garden City Community College and play football. Football honors and stats include: 4 year starter at linebacker and 3 year starter at right guard; 2008 2nd Team All District 7 LB; 2009 1st team all Mid Continent League LB, 1st Team All District 7 LB, 1st Team All District 7 guard; 2009 2nd Team all Northwest Kansas-Hays Daily News LB; All State Honorable Mention Topeka Capital LB. He had 371 career tackles, the all time school leader; 7 interceptions, 5 sacks, 23 carries for 76 yds. 3 receptions for 28 yds., 5 TDs. Hill City made it to the playoffs in 2009. Clinton placed 3rd in Mid Continent League Wrestling in 2009 and 4th in 2010. He enjoys hunting and has participated in Science Olympiad all 4 years of high school and participated in wrestling and track all 4 years. He is the son of Shane and Sherri Johnson, Bogue.

Trent Befort / Pratt-Skyline is a 2010 graduate of Skyline High School. Trent plans to attend nursing school at Wichita State University. Football stats include: 2009: 170 rushes for 1218 yds, 21 TD (scored 9 TD in 1 game); LB 93 tackles, 2 int for TD.  2008 stats: rushing 878 yds, 224 yds receiving, 16 TD, 27/45 - 298 yds passing, LB 122 tackles; He was selected Heart of the Plains All League 1st Team LB, HM RB; District 5 1st Team LB and 1st Team RB, 1st Team Athlete Award. He was selected Heart of the Plains All League, 2nd Team RB & 1st Team LB; District 5 1st Team Unanimous LB & 1st Team RB; KAKE News Srudent Athlete of the Week; Hutchinson News 3rd team all State RB, LB/ Wichita Eagle HM All State RB; Topeka Capital Journal HM All State LB. Trent lettered 1 year in golf, 2 years in basketball-captain, and lettered in track 3 years. He has been active in 4-H for 12 years, received the Kansas 4-H Key Award, Senior I Dare You 4-H Award, Pratt Co. Sr. Achievement 4-H Award, Pratt Co. Sr. Leadership 4-H Award and Pratt Co. Citizenship 4-H Award. He is a volunteer at the Pratt Regional Medical Center. Trent enjoys hunting and manages a small cow/calf herd with his brother. Activities and honors in school include: National Honor Society, Roll of Excellence Honor, State Science Olympiads, Student Body President, Senior 2009 Homecoming King, Senior Class VP, KAY Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Pep Club, band, 2009 Wendy's High School Heisman School Award Winner. He is the son of Mark and Lisa Befort, Pratt.

Zach Hibbert / South Gray is a 2010 graduate of South Gray High School. Zach plans to attend college and play football. He was named 1st Team Linebacker, 2nd Team Running back, 2nd Team Punter and HM All State in the Topeka, Wichita and Hutchinson Newspapers in football. South Gray was bi-district runner up in 2006 and undefeated at home in 2009. Zach's hobbies include demolition derby, weight lifting and hanging out with friends. He is the son of Joe and Shelly Hibbert, Cimarron.

Blake McKeever / Hill City is a 2010 graduate of Hill City High School. Blake plans to attend college and major in criminal justice. Honors and stats include: 11 career block punts, tied state record as a junior with 7; 2 year starter, 3 year letterman; 130 tackles, 12 sacks in 2 years. In 2008 he was selected 1st Team All district D-line; 2009: 2nd Team All District D-end and All Sate Honorable Mention Topeka Capital Journal D-end.
Hill City was league champs in 2009 and and district co-champs, the 1st playoff team in school history. Blake was a 3 year starter on the basketball team and that was 2010 league champions and made state in golf as a sophomore. He is a CYO member, volunteers for county fairs and welds in the summertime. Blake enjoys hunting, fishing, riding 4-wheelers, spending time outdoors and playing video games. He is the son of Jeff McKeever and Cheri Appelhans, Hill City.

Ethan Schroeder / Lincoln is a 2010 graduate of Lincoln High School. Ethan plans to attend Kansas State University. He was a 4 year letterman in football and was chosen Freshman of the Year in 2006. In 2009 he had 23 tackles and 12 assists. His team made the state playoffs in 2006. Ethan was a member of the substate basketball team in 2010; state medalist in bench in 2009 weightlifting; and won overall and 2nd in clean, squat and bench weightlifting at the Tescott Weightlifting Tournament in 2009. He is a member of St. Patrick CYO, and volunteer for the Beverly and Lincoln communities. He enjoys farming, hunting and K-State football. Ethan was a STUCO rep, senior class officer and on the A Honor Roll at Lincoln High School. He is the son of Tim and Dora Schroeder, Beverly

Clay Rogge / Triplains/Brewster is a 2010 graduate of Triplains High School. Matt plans to attend Kansas Wesleyan University and play football. Clay plans to serve in the United States Marine Corps. Matt was selected 2nd Team Linebacker and All League Defensive line in football and all league in basketball. He is a member of youth group and church and enjoys hunting, fishing and lifting weights. He lettered in football 4 years, basketball 3 years, track 3 years, KAYS 4 years, play 4 years, pep club 2 years, Scholar's bowl and vocal music. He is the son of Dan and Robin Rogge, Winona.

Marc Renfro / Macksville is a 2010 graduate of Macksville High School. Marc plans to attend Kansas State University and play football. High school football stats include: 2009: 1055 total yds., 5.96 yds per carry, 25 TD's rushing, 2 TD's receiving, 230 yds receptions, 1 KO for TD. He was selected 1st Team All District 5 Runningback, 1st Team All Central Prairie League RB and DB, 1st Team All District 5 Defensive Back, Topeka Capital Journal HM Runningback (8 man). Macksville was sub-state runner up in 2006; 13-0 8 Man I State Champs in 2007; Sub-state runner up in 2008 and regional runner up in 2009. Marc was a state finalist in the 110 hurdles in 2009; state qualifier in the 4x100m relay and 300m hurdles. He was a member of the Regional basketball championship team in 2007, 2008 and 2009; and the sub-state basketball champs in 2009. He was selected to the All Tourney Team Keady Classic Basketball in Larned in 2009. Marc has been a member of 4-H for 12 years, 4-H Council members 3 years, and Macksville Free Methodist Church. He enjoys hunting, sports, family, church activities and hanging out with friends. Activities and honors in school include National Honor Society, band-e yrs. school play-1 yr,; football, basketball, track, KAYS-4 years. He is the son of Dan and Terri Renfro, Macksville.

Coaches:

Jerry Voorhees / Thunder Ridge has been chosen as the head coach for the 8 Man Division I West Squad 8 Man All Star Football Game. Jerry Voorhees was raised in Smith Center where he played High School Football for legendary Coach Roger Barta. Jerry graduated from Smith Center in 1987. He started a youth football program in Victoria in 1999. He coached the Victoria team for 3 years and then was transferred to Phillipsburg, where he took over their youth football program. He coached the youth program for 4 years, with 1 State Championship and 2 State Runner-ups. Jerry was hired by Kensington High School as their Head Football Coach in 2006. In 2008 Kensington and Agra combined schools to become Thunder Ridge High School where he continued as Head Football Coach. In his 4 years as Head Coach he has a record of 30-10 and 2 State Playoff appearances. Jerry and his wife Lynette have been married for 20 years and have 2 children Samantha, 16 and Sabrina Jo, 15.

Russ Steinbrock / Clifton-Clyde has been chosen as an assistant coach for the 8 Man Division I West Squad 8 Man All Star Football Game. Russ Steinbrock graduated from Clifton-Clyde High School in 1993 and received his BS in Elementary Education from Kansas State University in 1998. He teaches 1st Grade and is going into his 10th year as the Eagles Head Football Coach. In 2004 Clifton-Clyde made the transition to 8-Man Football. Over the last five seasons the Eagles have compiled an overall record of 50-6. Steinbrock's teams have made the State Playoffs for the last five years. They have claimed 4 straight District and Bi-District Championships, 3 straight Regional Championships, and 3 League Titles. The Eagles were the 2008 8-Man Div. I State Runner-Up. Russ has been married to his wife Keyna for 10 years. They have three children, Drake, 9, Ella, 7, and Lilly, 4.

Brian Roesch / Quinter has been chosen as an assistant coach for the 8 Man Division I West Squad 8 Man All Star Football Game. Coach Brian Roesch graduated from Quinter High School in 1983, then from Fort Hays State University with a BS in Industrial Education and an MS in Educational Administration. He coached at Triplains High School in Winona, KS from 1987-1991, Colby High School from 1991-1995, then returned to his alma mater Quinter High School from 1995 to present. He teaches industrial arts, coaches JH football, basketball and track, HS football and basketball. Quinter Bulldogs are reigning 2009 8 Man Division I Champions. Brian and his wife, Linda have been married for 25 years and have 4 children: Zach, Tim, Aubrey and Jesse.
