Joseph J. Hojda, Age 46

Joseph Jeffrey Hojda, the son of Sharyn (Dykstra) and Joseph John Hojda was born September 10, 1968 at Red Cloud, NE. He departed this life on Monday, January 26, 2015 at his home in Independence, KS at the age of 46 years, 4 months, 16 days.
Jeff graduated from Smith Center High School in 1987. He joined the National Guard between his junior and senior years at high school. He attended one year of college at Cloud County Community College.
In 2004, Jeff adopted two sons, Martin and Jonathon. They were the joy of his life.
After leaving the Lebanon area, he lived at Osborne, KS for 17 years and worked at Osborne Industries. He was a very active participant in the local churches and the music a\ministry.
Jeff loved music and was a talented drummer. Besides being in the music ministry, he was involved with several local bands.
Jeff had several hobbies; he enjoyed reading, fishing and drawing. He also enjoyed bicycling.
Jeff loved his three precious granddaughters and his two cats.
Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, Cecil & Eleanor Severance and Charles Dykstra; his paternal grandparents Gene & Marvel Hojda, & his son Jonathon.
Left to treasure his memory are his son, Martin (Alicia) Hojda of Independence, KS; parents John & Sharyn of Lebanon; sister Dana (Brent) Peterson of Smith Center; 3 granddaughters, Ryleigh, Charleigh & Emileigh.
Celebration of Life memorial services will be held at 10:30AM, Tuesday February 3, 2015 at the Simmons-Rentschler Mortuary in Smith Center.
There will be no visitation.
Inurnment will be held at the Cora Cedar-Hill Cemetery, rural Smith County, KS.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Jeffrey Hojda memorial fund and can be sent in care of the mortuary.
