Norma Doering, Age 70

Norma Doering, the daughter of John and Alvina (Gebers) Flathman, was born on April 8, 1945 in Deshler, Nebraska. She passed away on April 30, 2015 at the Superior Good Samaritan Society, Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 70 years, and 22 days.

Norma was one of seven children. Growing up she attended school at St. John Lutheran and graduated from Chester High School in 1963. She was a current member of Centennial Lutheran Church transferring her membership from St. Peter Lutheran Church in Byron after many years.

She was united in marriage to Roland Doering on January 26, 1964, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Chester by Pastor Donald Patterson. To this union 5 children were born Stephen, Timothy, Kayla, Shari and Brenda. Together they raised their family on the farm and enjoyed family, friends, and camping trips.

Norma was employed as an Assistant Activities Director at the Superior Good Samaritan Society. Due to her health she resided at the center in December of 2014.

Norma was a member of the Byron Women's Club, and the Farmerettes in Superior. She taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, and kid's choir at church for many years. She was known for her wonderful cake baking and made many birthday, anniversary and wedding cakes for relatives, friends and many others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alvina; husband Roland on August 18, 2002; infant sons Stephen and Timothy and brothers Leroy and Raymond Flathman.

She is survived by her daughters Kayla Tiemeyer of Atwood, Kansas, Shari Thomas of Norfolk, Nebraska and Brenda Isidore and husband Mike of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 11 grandchildren: Dylan Tiemeyer of Lindsborg, Kansas; Colton and Jordyn Tiemeyer of Atwood, Kansas; Daulton and Annika Thomas of Norfolk, Nebraska; Brianna, Mikylea, Trinity, Cambria, Zachary and Zaden Isidore of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sisters JoAnn Fangmeyer and husband Ervin of Deshler, Nebraska; Connie Eitzmann and husband Scott of Hardy, Nebraska; Kay Garrells of Wichita, Kansas and brother Wayne Flathman and wife Linda of Shickley, Nebraska; many nieces, nephews, close cousins, other relatives and a host of friends
