Sandra McGaughey, Age 69

Sandra "Sandy" S. McGaughey, age 69, died Sat., May 2, 2015 at her home in Concordia, KS. She was born on May 21, 1945 in Wichita Falls, TX to Clovis N. & Carol E. (Schroder) Scogin.

Sandy graduated from Jesse H. Jones High School, Houston, TX in 1964. She moved to Concordia in 1977. While in Concordia she worked for several years as a para-educator in the Concordia school district and later worked at Dreiling's Department store before moving to Wellington, KS in 1995. In 2006 Sandy returned to Concordia. She was a member of the 4J Cowboy Church, Concordia. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, gardening, fishing & spending time with her family & friends. She always looked forward to outings with Debbie and attending the monthly book club.

She is survived by her daughter, Alice Nondorf, Concordia; grandsons, Tyler Nondorf (Therese), Ft. Campbell, KY & Christian Nondorf, Concordia; brother, Joe Scogin, Ft. White, FL; several cousins; close friends, Bob & Debbie Cook, Mary Thrush & Samantha Goff & a host of many other friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; aunt & uncle, Alice & Lawrence Spindle and her four legged best friend, Tribe.

It was Sandy's wishes to be cremated. A Memorial service will be 11 am, Tues., May 12, 2015 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia with Pastor Bob Cook officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Friends may sign the register book from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday, May 11, 2015 at the funeral home.
