Robert Barleen, Age 67

Robert "Bob" E. Barleen, age 67, died Thurs., May 28, 2015 at his home in Rural Concordia, KS. He was born on Aug. 19, 1947 in Concordia, KS to Leonard O. & Naomi A. (Hammer) Barleen.

Robert graduated from Concordia High School. Robert farmed and ranched. He also worked for COOP Services, Rex Gerard Excavating, he also worked for Mark Morgan, farming. Bob was a welder for CE/ABB Raymond and later Alstom in Concordia. He was a member of the NRA, Moose Lodge. Bob enjoyed the outdoors, planting trees, going to the lake and most of all spending time with his beloved family and visiting with friends.

He married Glenda Gerard on Nov. 17, 1972 and they later divorced.

He is survived by his sons, Jason Barleen & Brett Barleen, Concordia; mother, Naomi Barleen, Concordia; 3 grandchildren, Carlie and Wyatt Barleen; Kyra Voss; 2 brothers, Arnold Barleen (Donna), Concordia, KS.; Leland Barleen (Deanna), Clay Center, KS.; 2 sisters, Karen Smith, Salina, KS.; Phyllis Larsen (Fred), Concordia.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nicole Barleen & father, Leonard.

The family selected cremation and Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tues., June 2, 2015 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Rev. Brian Lager officiating. A private scattering of the cremains will take place at a later date. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 1, 2015 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.
