Wilma Frances Ireland was born June 3,1930, in Harvard, NE, and was adopted by Oscar and Edith (Redenbo) Ireland of Hebron. She died Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Mt. Carmel Home Keens Memorial in Kearney.

She spent her childhood as a farm girl, gathering eggs, taking care of animals, working in the garden, and riding horses. She went to a rural school in Kansas, then attended Hebron Public Schools, where she met Earnest Correll, who became the love of her life. They attended school and church functions together, and marched together in the Hebron High School Band her instrument of choice being the trombone; his the trumpet. They graduated in 1947. .

Wilma and Earnest were married August 21, 1949, at the First Christian Church in Hebron. They lived in Atlantic City, NJ while Earnest served in the Navy.

They came back to Hebron, then moved to Lincoln, where their first son, Daniel Earnest, was born on April 14, 1954. Their second son, Dennis Allen, was born March 11, 1958, in Council Bluffs, IA. They also lived in Kearney and Gering, Ne; Greeley and Ft. Lupton, CO before moving back to Lincoln and finally to Kearney.

Wilma enjoyed cooking and baking. Christmas time was always an occasion to make many varieties of treats that were enjoyed by her family, but she had several specialties family and friends enjoyed year round. She also crocheted and knitted, and had that magic touch with African violets!

Wilma worked as a bookkeeper at several businesses throughout the years, including Marlatt Machine Shop in Kearney. She took great joy in her granddaughters and great grandchildren. When her granddaughters were little, if she had occasion to take care of them for extended periods of time they could rest assured that she would come "bearing gifts"including treats! Through the years, Wilma and Earnest enjoyed socializing with many friends.

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband Earnest, her parents, brother Maurice Ireland, and granddaughter Erin Danielle Correll.

Her survivors include son Dan and his wife Gay of Kearney, son Dennis of New Hope, Minnesota, Jean Correll of Medford, Minnesota; granddaughters Caitlin Mueller and husband James of Papillion, Nebraska, Megan Fleischman and husband Bill of Lincoln, Nebraska, Lindsay and Brittany Correll of Medford, Minnesota; four great grandchildren, Owen and Eli Mueller and William and Erin Fleischman; as well as her sister Emaline Einspahr and husband Lamoine of Hastings, Nebraska, brother Bill Ranz and wife Barbara of California, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 29, 2016 at The First Community Church in Hebron, NE at 10AM. Officiant Steven Speichinger, organist Judy Kassebaum, congregational hymns: "What A Friend We Have In Jesus", "Amazing Grace", and "How Great Thou Art". Casket bearers James Mueller, Bill Fleischman, Ray Henning, Randy Smith and Ron Engel and Tom Torbeck. Honorary bearers; Marlow Huber and Max Bobinhouse. Burial will be in the Hebron City Cemetery.
