Scott Ernest Wroughton, the son of Donald and Lois (Fuller) Wroughton, was born on April 29, 1968 in Superior, Nebraska. He passed away on April 2, 2017 at his home at Nelson, Nebraska at the age of 48 years, 11 months, 4 days.

Scott lived all his life in Nelson; he attended Nelson Public School and graduated from Nelson High School in 1986. Scott was actively involved in football, drama, FFA, golf, and homecoming king his senior year. Scott was an active member of the Nuckolls County Pheasants Forever Chapter spending many of those years acting as Chapter President. He was a member of Nelson Community United Church of Christ. On October 3, 1987 he was united in marriage to Deeanne Pohlmann at Deshler Peace Lutheran Church. They were blessed with two sons.

He was employed at Bruckman Rubber in Hastings for 24 years. He loved the outdoors, which included hunting, fishing, horse races, camping, karaoke, gardening and his flowers. Scott also enjoyed cooking every opportunity he was given for his family and friends. Scott never missed a weekend of football watching the Kansas City Chiefs and the Huskers, his favorite teams. Scott was a very caring, and giving person, being a great husband and father.

Survivors include his wife, Deeanne and his two sons Jacob (Heather Karr), and Blake; his parents Donald and Lois Wroughton all of Nelson, Nebraska; and in-laws, Merlyn and Lorena Pohlmann of Deshler, Nebraska; ½ brother Mike Wroughton of Phoenix, Arizona and ½ sister Patricia Wroughton of Colorado; brother-in-law Delayne Pohlmann of Deshler, Nebraska and sister-in-law Laura Anderson and husband Justin of Omaha, Nebraska; one niece Ashlyn Anderson and four nephews Kaeden, Taige, and Chase Anderson, and Justin Wroughton; along with multiple Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and a host of friends.
