Edna Ryals, Age 99

Edna Mae (Liby) Ryals, age 99, entered into rest on, November 7, 2017, at McPherson Hospital in McPherson, Kansas. She was born on May 4, 1918 in Concordia, Kansas to Roy E. and Maud (Supernant) Spratlen. Edna was a 1936 graduate of Concordia High School. On October 9, 1937 she married Carl E. Liby in Clay Center, Kansas at the Presbyterian Church. She was a head cook for the McPherson Country Club and Elks Lodge also the Beloit Country Club and Elks Lodge. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Glasco, Kansas. She enjoyed reading, traveling, crocheting, baking wedding cakes, sewing, and most of all cooking.

She is survived by her daughter, Helen Skipworth, Atwood, KS.; son, Eugene Liby (partner Jennifer), McPherson, KS.; daughter, Alice Dietz (Dan), Glasco, KS.; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Norma Albers, sisters, Mary Chartier, Alberta Spratlen, Bertha Goens, Myra Goens, brother, Jim Spratlen and his wife Ruth.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, November 13, 2017 all at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas. Pastor Bob Burns will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas.
