Barbara A. (Schneider) Palecek, 82

Barbara Ann Palecek, of Belleville, Kansas, the daughter of Ernest Schneider and Celia (Gatz) Schneider, was born June 3, 1941 in Greenport, New York, and passed away on April 24, 2024 at Republic County Hospital, Belleville, Kansas, at the age of 82.
Barbara grew up in Riverhead, New York, where she attended the local public schools, graduating from Riverhead High School.
On November 4, 1962, she was united in marriage to Maurice Gieber and to this union was born, Mark, Melanie, Mandee, Michael, and Michelle. They were later divorced.
She later was united in marriage to Frank Palecek on June 11, 1990. The couple enjoyed collecting and antiquing along with traveling the east coast and Midwest.
Barbara worked at Republic County Hospital for over 35 years until her retirement.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Celia Schneider, and brother, Robert Schneider.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Palecek of Belleville, Kansas; children, Mark (Jann) Gieber of Belleville, Kansas, Michael (Heather) Gieber of Belleville, Kansas, Melanie (Mike) Palmquist of Belleville, Kansas, Mandee Gieber (Teresa Ferguson) of Lawrence, Kansas, and Michelle Gieber of Belleville, Kansas; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Cremation was selected and family memorial services will be held at a later date.
