The new additions and renovations have all been completed. They will wait to move the Cardiac Rehab Department until this spring when an accessible parking lot can be built by the north Entrance to the new unit.
Mr. Dick gave an update on the Medi-tech electronic medical record system that will be activated on February 1. He said MCHHS is moving forward to meet the government's "meaningful use" requirements. Fortunately when the government set the requirements they also initiated a stimulus package to help cover the cost of implementing this system and they will get back 80 percent of the cost after they meet the first phase of the requirements. Teaming up with Salina Regional also helped save 50 percent of the cost of the new system. In the future, the physician clinic will have parts of its computer system interfaced with this program so they can access their clinic records while in the hospital. Test results could also be automatically available in the clinic's system.
Administrator Dick thanked everyone for coming and said he hoped they all enjoyed their evening.
